2013 Projects

During 2013 the organisation has continued with the projects started in the previous years and has also expanded the activities by raising the number of beneficiaries and extension in different municipalities of Kosova. Thousands of participants have benefited from the projects that the organisation has implemented in the area, whereas the influence has extended over the local and central authorities, in order to facilitate the citizens’ access and to solve their problems, the organisation “Syri i Vizionit” is confirmed as being an important stakeholder and partner in Kosova and the region. During the year partnerships with other organisations and the donors with whom we worked through years have been held, and also new projects have been added.
Based in these projects, during 2013, there have been engaged about 15 people, who have contributed in over than ten long term projects, as well as other commitments, such as campaigns based on the communities’ needs. The community in different locations of Kosova has benefitted from this project, mostly the west region of Kosova, but other regions as well. Projects with groups of communities in different areas have been realised, including rural areas, groups which have been ignored or even unsupported earlier but also with organised groups which earlier did not have the support that our organisation offered them.
By the financial support from Solidar Suisse Projects that started a year earlier have been continued, including the projects in the social dialogue in milk sector and the supporting in the vocational education in compliance to the market needs, as well as the youth project and their interregional cooperation. Programs from the active citizenship supported from Olof Palme have been continued and extended, projects such as protection and creating conditions for children’s security in schools through Save the Children.
During 2013 tehre has also started the implementation of two new projects financed in partnership from the European Commission. The local project for supporting farmer’s organisations that is implemented in partnership with IADK and the regional project against the corruption where “Syri i Visionit” is one among 15 NGO from the Balkans.
In the environmental aspect the organisation has started a project in which it leads a group of 10 non-governmental organisations in activities that are dedicated in increasing the awareness for the importance of the river Drin and also to increase the understanding for the value of natural wealth for people and ecosystems and has also supported the action to clean up the municipality of Peja. The action of the civil society and authorities named “Let’s clean Peja” (alb. Le ta pastrojme Pejen) has been coordinated. Whereas in the first six months the organisation has helped on the strengthening of the just opened centre for the visitor’s service at the beginning of the touristic area of Rugova, until the creation and independency of the non-governmental organisation named “The western Gate” (alb. Porta Perendimore).
A part of the activities that have been done during this year have has also been focused in the supporting of citizens’ initiatives, informal groups and those groups that where in the beginning of their establishment. This activity has been implemented through the Office for support and open advice within the organisation. Organisation’s young volunteers have also been included in the investigations and organisation of activities and campaigns with different partners throughout Kosova.
As 2013 has been the year of elections in Kosova, within the frame of Democracy in Action (alb. Demokracia ne Veprim), “Syri i Vizionit” has monitored the campaign and elections in six municipalities of Kosova.
In terms of the organisation’s internal capacities’ development during the year the organisation has been fulfilled regarding the staff professionalism by taking part in trainings in which the staff and volunteer activist have been committed. The new three years lasting strategy has been drafted and the organisation’s strategy for the communication in media has been fulfilled.
