Workshop for Reviewing the Draft Law on Child Protection held

The Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, supported by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe - OSCE Mission in Kosovo and Syri i Vizionit in partnership with Save the Children Office in Kosovo, held a three-day workshop for reviewing the Draft Law on Child Protection.
The workshop was held with the purpose of incorporating the comments and recommendations from the Kosovo Assembly Members during the first reading of this Draft Law as well as comments and suggestions received from groups of interest working in the field of child protection in Kosovo.
Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions, the Ombudsperson, Director of the Office for Good Governance, Director and Coordinator of the Legal Office of the Prime Minister’s Office, representatives of organizations local and international NGOs working in the field of child protection and governance with their rights, Syri i Vizionit, Save the Children Office in Kosovo, OSCE Mission in Kosovo, UNICEF and the Center for Advanced Studies – FIT, were present in this workshop.
In the framework of the thematic program in the field of child protection and child rights governance "Our Future Obligation - Child Protection and the Rights of the Child" Syri i Vizionit organization in partnership with Save the Children Office in Kosovo are an active part of the work in drafting and finalizing this draft law, and will continue to assist and follow each procedure until its adoption and entry into force happens.
