OPEN CALL - for participants in mobility and training activities for youth promoters

20.07.2018

Syri i Vizionit (SiV) invites interested and motivated young people living in Peja, Gjakova and Prizren to apply for participation in a mobility and training programme for youth promoters.
Youth promoters (also known as greeters) are volunteers who welcome guests in their city or region, and show them around for free as they would do with friends or family. It is a form of social tourism: the residents participate in the activities of the guests, and guests get to see the local life of the place visited.

About the mobility and training programme

The mobility and training programme is implemented within the project “Youth Promoters – Enhancing Understanding, Building Intercultural Competences” funded by RYCO – Regional Youth Cooperation Office. It is implemented by NSHC in partnership with Syri i Vizionit and English language teachers and students association SOL.
The project’s overall aim is to contribute to reconciliation in the Western Balkans region through increasing youth mobility, activism and cooperation. The project specifically aims at enhancing intercultural dialogue and understanding in the region, and promoting intercultural competences as a tool for enhancing youth activism and youth employment. Therefore, a mixed group of 20 young people (10 from Novi Sad, Apatin, Kula, Surdulica, and Vladičin Han, and 10 from Peja, Gjakova and Prizren) is going to be selected for participation.

The mobility and training activities will take place in two parts:
- 1st part will last for 3 days and take place in Peja, with visits to Gjakova and Prizren, in October 2018.
- 2nd part will last for 3 days and take place in Šabac, with visit to Novi Sad, during November 2018.
English language will be the main language used throughout the entire activity.
The costs of training, travel, accommodation, food and refreshments will be fully covered by the project.
